Waltham Forest Council launched its borough wide selective licensing scheme on 1 May 2025, covering all privately rented properties let to a single household or two unrelated sharers, excluding properties in the Hatch Lane & Highams Park North and Endlebury wards. The council's objective is to improve housing conditions, ensure tenant safety, and support landlords in maintaining well managed properties.
