Tower Hamlets

Tower Hamlets Council introduced its selective licensing scheme on 1 October 2016, initially covering the wards of Spitalfields and Banglatown, Weavers, and Whitechapel. The council believes that licensing helps address significant and persistent problems, supports wider work around housing and homelessness, and enables targeting of landlords who do not manage properties responsibly.
