Newham’s selective licensing scheme was launched on 1 June 2023, covering almost all of its wards (except Royal Victoria and Stratford Olympic Park). The council says the scheme is designed to improve housing standards, tackle poor conditions, antisocial behaviour, and deprivation, and ensure landlords maintain safe, well-managed properties for tenants.
